Time & Location

The Golden Blooms Farm, 2435 NB-105, Lower Queensbury, NB E6L 1G4, Canada

About the event

This will be a great opportunity to let your imagination go wild and cultivate the artist in you!

Come hang with us as you pick fresh flowers from our gardens and arrange them into a vase. Learn how to use proper mechanic techniques to get your flowers to stay in place in creative ways.

What you can expect

This experience will last about 4 hours, from 10:00am-2:00pm.

While exploring and working in our cut flower gardens, you will learn about the best time to harvest flowers, how to pick blooms, how to care for them and, the best part, how to arrange them into a vase to create your own unique work of art!

Once flowers have been picked, they will need some time to hydrate before being arranged, this is called ‘the conditioning process’. This is when we will stop for lunch (food will not be served, so please pack your own lunch). During this break, you will get the opportunity to find a shady spot under a tree, sit down to take in the beautiful views of the Saint John River, and browse flower books for inspiration.

After the flowers have rested (and you have too!), you’ll get busy creating your own arrangement, learning about different tools (the floristy industry calls this 'the mechanics') to make your flowers stand in creative ways.

Everyone will go home with their own unique creation.

Good to know

Space is very limited (8 people max.) so be sure to register right away to secure your spot.

We suggest wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. A hat, sunglasses, long sleeves and gardening gloves are recommended. Bring your own vase. All other tools, such as cutters, buckets, etc. will be provided.

Please note that we will be working with sharp tools. This workshop is designed for adults. However, we are open to anyone wanting to bring their child and experience a parent-child activity. In this case, we do ask that you supervise your child very closely.

In the event of inclement weather, we will notify you by email of the alternate date. If this new date does not work for you, you will get a full refund (see below for more information about cancellations and refunds).

Registration Fee: $80.00 (tax incl.)

*If you are bringing your child, only one registration is required as you will be working together on the same flower arrangement.

Registration Deadline: Saturday, August 17th, 2024

Type of Payment Accepted: E-transfers only.
